The wind won’t be as stiff today, but STILL….Wednesday morning wind chills will hover near zero. A stubborn deck of clouds retreats to the northeast along with a large low pressure system. Those clouds may hang on a little longer early this morning in Muncie and Richmond. The latest projections on the big storm rolling in from the Plains tend to keep central Indiana dry until late afternoon, or even evening. Your Thursday morning trip will be drama-free, and Thursday afternoon is probably ok. Thursday Night brings a mix of sleet, snow, and (eventually) freezing rain, as warmer air arrives above the surface. Accumulations should be light, but areas from Indy north/northwestward could see around an inch of snow/sleet, in addition to a little “ice on top.” That will spell travel trouble for Thursday evening and Friday morning’s rush hour. As the atmosphere warms from the top down we would switch to plain rain, or drizzle by midday Friday. The weekend is still looking good. And I don’t blame you for looking! INDY ALMANAC: The average high today is 42 and the average low is 25. Records are 67 and -8. The sunrise time is 7:31 and the sun sets at 6:27.
