A Big Weather Deal: our first day above 40 degrees since January 30! Even if YOU don’t feel above average, the highs will. Typically we’d be in the upper 30s. The mild temps will be pulled into the state on southeast winds ahead of a cold front to the west. That front will spark showers this evening. The rain could mix with a few flakes from Indy northward as it is ending.
There is a slight chance of a shower already by later this afternoon, mainly north of the Wabash River, and around Lafayette. With the nearby system stirring things up there is quite a bit of temperature difference across the state, ranging from 36 in South Bend today (with a wintry mix also possible) to 60 in Evansville.
On the other side of the front: Friday is fine, but a little cooler again. Saturday is sunny, with high pressure parked right over us. The next system spawns Sunday showers that could linger into early Monday morning. The middle of next week is worth watching, with some signals pointing to accumulating snow Wednesday or Valentines Day. Have you even used your shovel this year?
Millions will use ’em this weekend. Snow will definitely be a Big Deal in New England/New York Friday and Saturday. A couple of feet are possible from Boston on down close to NYC.
INDY ALMANAC:
