A dusting of snow is possible throughout the day, as generally unsettled weather continues in Indiana. Temperatures start out even colder than yesterday, with single digit wind chills. The snow shower chances will be with us until late afternoon. Temperatures are still below average. We will monitor wind speeds today. Gusty winds by midday may cause some blowing snow/visibility issues, even with light amounts.
There will be more moisture available with the next upper level system that rotates in for Monday. The most likely time for snow is afternoon and early evening. There are indications that the precip may mix with rain from around the Indy metro area southward. Accumulations in central Indian will average one to two inches by Monday evening. The best chance for two inches will be around Muncie down to Richmond and eastward.
Just flurries Tuesday, with a gradual moderating trend in temperatures for the second half of the week. That switch to milder temps may involve rain Thursday, and sleet is possible north of Indy.
One thing that stands out about the coming week – not as wild as last week. Last week brought a record high of 65 AND 5 degrees one morning for one of the coldest starts of the season. Not to mention the severe weather in the middle of the week.
