By 2am today Indianapolis had already set a record high, and there was at least one report of a January tornado in Indiana. Heavy rain and 70 mph wind gusts stormed the state overnight into early Wednesday morning. That record high of 65 (!) in Indy broke the record from 1947 by one degree. It happened just before the storms arrived and cooled the air. There was one report of a tornado in Greene County, two miles northeast of Solsberry. That’s about halfway between Bloomfield and Bloomington. Several homes were reported to have been damaged from a storm that had exhibited rotation on radar in the 1 am hour. Nearby SR 43 was closed while power lines were across the road.
