A murky, mild, moist Monday in Indianapolis. The day begins with a Dense Fog Advisory and could end with a new record high temperature. The Advisory ends at 9am. The warm weather ends Tuesday night.
Today’s the fifth consecutive day of above average temperatures in Indianapolis. Can you imagine how warm we would have been without all the recent clouds?
Even with those clouds the high should be right around 70 in Indy today. We only made it to the 70s ONE time in all of November. This will be the warmest day since that day, November 10th.
Will we get a new record? Close call. It appears that – even with all the clouds – the high should be right around 70. The current record is 69, from 1982. The last time we had a 70 degree day in December was 2001.
Winds will get busy again this afternoon and tonight, gusting up to 20-25 mph. The cold front will arrive late tonight and early Tuesday morning, bringing rain. Some thunder is also possible. The rain chance will diminish in the afternoon. We could use the moisture. It’s been fairly dry for about a month. Sunday’s early morning rain total of .26″ in Indianapolis was the biggest one-day rain event since November 12.
Rain chances fade gradually Tuesday afternoon, then it’s seasonably cold Tuesday evening. No dramatic temps behind the front. Just back to normal!
