High pressure holds firm Friday, anchored over the Carolinas and sending southerly winds our way. That wind flow helps put central Indiana into the mid 50s today, and 60s this weekend.
Come Saturday afternoon the winds will quicken and the clouds will thicken. A weak upper-level weather maker gives us a chance of some light showers after midnight Saturday night into Sunday morning.
The next biggest chance of rain comes Monday evening into Tuesday morning with a sharp cold front. That sharp sucker sends the mild weather packing by Tuesday night and we go back below normal for awhile.
We could use that rain. After three straight months of above-average precipitation, the weather pattern returned to drier than normal conditions. Indy’s year-to-date total is 35.42 inches.
