Welcome to the warm sector! That’s the area between a warm front and a cold front. It can be an active area, and you’ll notice the weather a lot today.
Periods of showers and storms will be around, and a Wind Advisory is in place from 11am-8pm, about the time the cold front will pass. The Advisory means winds could gust to 45 mph.
The Storm Prediction Center also places the southern half of the state, including Indianapolis into a slight risk for severe thunderstorms. The most likely problem will be damaging winds. The biggest threats will come in the midday and afternoon hours.
The storm system sparked 3 tornado reports yesterday, all in Texas. High wind and large hail were also reported in Arkansas, Oklahoma, Kansas.
Periods of showers and storms all across the PP Network today. Highs range from 70 in South Bend to 75 in Evansville. There’s a slight risk of severe storms from Indy southward. A Wind Advisory, for gusts up to 45 mph, is in place for all but the southern quarter of the state.
The average high today is 66 and the average low is 45. Records are 86 and 24. The sunrise time is 7:55 and the sunset is at 7:07.
