I’ll be hanging with the “Glamour Gals” today. It happens at Robin Run Village on the northwest side. Glamour Gals Mega Makeovers are designed to spread awareness about the GlamourGals mission and to engage non-traditional volunteers in the community. GlamourGals has been hosting Mega Makeovers at Robin Run for nearly three years. The group tries to get teens to do makeovers for elderly women living in homes for Seniors.
Students from the University of Indianapolis will be attending to celebrate the campus wide day of service taking place that day. Additionally, students from Heritage Christian High School in Indianapolis will be volunteering as well.
Then, it’s off to the Pedal For Peace bike race at the Velodrome.
The team bike relay is in it’s 4th event year and 2nd year of raising money for Interfaith Hunger Initiative which supports Gleaners Food Bank and Global Interfaith Partnership’s UMOJA Project. Last year’s participants raised enough money for the local pantries to procure 75 tons of food and to feed 400 school children in Kenya for a year!
