Let’s not mince words about the weather.

RAIN!

This Twitter follower summed it up best:
“@AimsIsland: @PaulPoteet ..up here in Fishers, Mr. P. Feels like the past 3 months’ worth of storms arrived all at once!”

Radar indicates as much as FOUR inches fell since last night. Thursday begins with a Flood Warning for Central Vermillion, Northern Parke, Southern Fountain, and southwestern Montgomery counties in west central Indiana.

A couple of lows mean high chances for more showers and storms this morning and again this afternoon and tonight. One upper level system is moving in from the Mid Mississippi Valley and one’s coming from the Great Lakes.

Indianapolis already picked up just an inch late last night. Radar indicates as much as two inches may have fallen in the northwest corner of Indy in the evening and overnight. There’s a widespread 2-4 inch swath west of Indy back toward Illinois.

Recently rain-neglected Terre Haute measured .23″ of rain between 3 and 4 am this morning – exactly what the city received in the MONTH of June.

Another inch is possible – along with possibly severe weather – this afternoon and evening. We’ll get a break in the midday today.

Today will be the last day for above normal temperatures until next Monday. We won’t see the 90s back again until next Wednesday. The hot weather left with a Big Bang yesterday, as the high hit 98, and tied a 1941 record high. That was the 18th daily high temperature record set this year.

Here’s a record that probably WON’T be broken: 86 consecutive days above 80. That’s from 2002. Today will be the 64th consecutive day above 80 in Indy, but I think we’ll stay in the 70s tomorrow.

THE 70s!

RAIN!

INDY ALMANAC:

UV INDEX:

POLLEN COUNT:
The rain helps knock it down to “low-medium” today, and “medium” Friday. Back to “medium-high” this weekend.
