Nice day for a little racing. The Brick-Cast is mostly, then partly sunny. Hot but not humid. Light and variable morning wind becomes south at about 5mph by afternoon.

YOUR DAY AT THE SPEEDWAY:
9a: 72 | 12p: 83 | 5p: 91

Today’s high forecast is identical to the high on “500” Race Day in May, although it won’t be as humid.

Always nice to start a summer morning in the low 60s. It’s been a little over a week since the Indy temp was that cool. Even though high temperature the next seven days will be a notch below last week’s triple digits, they’ll still SMOKE. (Hello Tony!)

The average temperature (including lows and highs) in the city for July is 84.4 degrees. If you slice the stats that way….this will be the hottest month on record. July 1936 brought an average temp of 82.8 degrees. Get this: just three years ago we had the second COLDEST July on record with an average of 70.9 degrees.

There are rain chances in the forecast Monday and Tuesday, and again Friday.

OLYMPIC WEATHER:
English forecasters say thunderstorm chances are back in London today, with hail also a possibility. Once you’ve seen an imitation Queen appearing from the sky, can hail be that scary?

The storms won’t last much longer than the opening ceremonies, and dry weather returns Monday. It might rain again anytime from Tuesday through Thursday, and highs will be in the 60s. And yes, for those who pointed it out on-line Friday night while watching the Olympics, I have been told before about the Rowan Atkinson resemblance. God save the Bean!

WIKI-POTEETIA:
Yesterday was one of only three days in July 2012 where the high *wasn’t* 90+. And one of THOSE days it was 89.

PAUL’S PREVIOUS PREDICTION:
The actual high yesterday was 86. The forecast was 86.

UV INDEX:
9 (Very high.)

POLLEN COUNT:
The count is “medium” today and tomorrow, and “medium-high” Tuesday and Wednesday.

DETAILED INDIANAPOLIS FORECAST:
Today; Mostly sunny. High 91.

Tonight: Slight storm chance after midnight. Low 70.

Monday: Partly sunny, with a slight chance of showers and storms. More humid. High 90.

Monday Night: Partly cloudy. Low 71.

Tuesday: Mostly sunny and hot. High 95.

Tuesday Night: Partly cloudy. Low 69.

Wednesday: Mostly sunny. High 92.

Wednesday Night: Mostly clear. Low 69.

Thursday: Mostly sunny. High 93.

Thursday Night: Partly cloudy. Low 72.

Friday: Partly cloudy with a slight shower/storm chance. High 88.

Friday Night: Slight storm chances. Low 70.

Saturday: Partly cloudy. High 89.
