DAY-OF UPDATE:
The 9th Annual Talk Walk Run will take place rain or shine. I doubt we’ll have “shine” but “rain” may or may not happen, and it doesn’t look like storms are a threat in the morning, so put on a ball cap and join me! In case of inclement weather, the run/walk may be delayed (but it will not be rescheduled for a future date). In the event of rain, we will move kids’ games, food, and exhibitors under the tents and shelter areas. We won’t let rain and cold temperatures ruin our celebration! If for some reason you are unable to attend, please send any donations you may have collected to Hear Indiana, PO Box 347, Zionsville, IN 46077.
**You CAN register the morning of the event. Registration and packet pick-up is from 7:30-8:55am at the Reddick Shelter in Fort Harrison State Park.**
Join me and my son 9am Saturday morning at Ft. Harrison for the annual Talk Walk Run fundraiser for Hear Indiana. Online registration for this 5k ends Thursday at midnight. The goal this year is $60,000!
Here’s the scoop from the site:
Warm-up to the Mini, with this challenging 5K which wraps around a lake in the rolling hills of Fort Harrison State Park. Same day registration and packet pick-up is from 7:30-8:55am at the Reddick Shelter in Fort Harrison State Park. Fees for same-day registrations are $3 more than per-registered fees: $28 (5K run), $25 (5K walk), and FREE for the fun run. Tuxedo Brothers, specializing in management of running and walking events, will be managing the scoring, timing and registrations for this year’s Talk Walk Run. For more info about the race logistics, please contact Don Carr (Tuxedo Brothers) at 317-733-3300 or tuxbro@indy.rr.com.
The Talk Walk Run and Post-Race Party is a great opportunity to meet other families and adults who are living with hearing loss. The proceeds from this event support deaf and hard of hearing Hoosiers. Please contact Hear Indiana at info@hearindiana.org or 317-828-0211 for more information about our mission and programs.
Hear Indiana is a state-wide nonprofit organization which supports Hoosier families by providing advocacy, emotional support, scholarships, educational programming, and a Youth Leadership Camp for children with hearing loss.
