Welcome to the second half of February! For your convenience, it’ll probably be a lot like the first half. I don’t see any huge Arctic outbreaks ahead, and just a few flurries are now in the Saturday forecast. Rain and fog will still be a possibility for the morning trip today, but clouds could start cracking by the afternoon trip, and we’re golden tomorrow.
Rain amounts from yesterday appear to be generally under a quarter of an inch. A fat, sassy, fair weather high pressure system is waiting in the wings, and drifts aimlessly through Friday. I think I may follow suit:)
Since we can’t crunch snow, how about some numbers? Several folks on Twitter and Facebook have asked me recently if this will be the least-snowiest winter ever in Indy. No. However…. We are at 9.1 inches for the season. IF it didn’t snow any more, which is unlikely, we’d be on the board as the ninth-least snowiest. We’ll need to keep the total under ten inches to qualify for the top ten. (Or is that bottom ten?) What was the least? You probably don’t remember the 5.5 inches total from the winter of 1918-1919. Apparently there was a Snow Prohibition just before that Other One.
