Just another above average day is ahead. Indianapolis is definitely NOT The Epicenter Of Winter. But don’t take a meteorologist’s word for it. Straight from the sports desk, here’s “Sports Illustrated” writer Peter King: “Best weather I’ve seen at a Super Bowl in years. Just eerie. 52, sunny, light breeze. XC runners at UIndy jogging on campus, shirtless.”
You may find the fog eerie this morning, but beyond that, no problem in the Village today. The rain chance holds off ’til the last performers wiggle off the free stages tonight. Tomorrow is another story. Expect periods of rain, although temperatures will remain above average. I now think the rain will be gone by Big Game Day, although it may start with clouds in the morning.
The other day’s video featured me looking for snow. Haven’t found it yet. The Indy seasonal snow total stands at 6.7 inches. Average is 17.2 at this point, and last year we had almost crossed the 30 inch line at this time. There is a chance that a few flakes will mix in with the rain Saturday night north and northeast of Indianapolis. Otherwise, no Big Winter for the Big Game. You gotta go to Dallas for that.
INDY ALMANAC:
The average high today is 37, and the average low is 21. Even when we “cool off” this weekend we will still be above average. Record high today is 62 and the record low is -11. Sunrise time is 7:52 and the sunset is 6:07.
