It apparently takes a Village to raise a temperature. Indianapolis will be in striking distance of a record high today, as Super Bowl week marches on.
Just one year ago today an ice storm moved in and struck the state in several waves. A combo platter of snow, sleet and freezing rain created over a half inch of icy glaze across metro Indy. This year: think “NFL Experience,” not “Disney On Ice.”
Here’s a sobering stat: In just two days, February 1st and 2nd of LAST year, Indy recorded rain, sleet, ice, hail, snow, wind and fog. Makes today all that much sweeter. Tuesday starts with sunshine. Clouds will increase this afternoon, along with the wind gusts, at least one more time. The breeze will finally ease late tonight. Shower chances increase mid to late evening, but should be completely gone Wednesday morning by the time “Mike & Mike” are halfway through the morning on Radio Row.
It now appears our precipitation chance Saturday will be mainly rain, to complete the warm and friendly weather theme. Snow could still mix in Saturday night, but does not appear to be a big deal. Maybe Old Man Winter left town in a moving van?
