A deep area of low pressure over the lower Mississippi River valley trudges on to the northeast today, moving through the Ohio River Valley, and making rain a safe bet. The low exits, kicking and screaming, tonight. Friday is a dry day, but we could see some flurries fly late Friday night. The mixed bag of tricks from last night should be confined to northeast Indiana around Ft. Wayne this morning. This could be (knocking wood here) the last “mixed” event we deal for awhile.
Yesterday I promised to compete with Colts Owner and Head Tweeter Jim Irsay, who kicked off the Super Forecasts online this week. I don’t think there will be any significant travel problems with people coming to Indianapolis. The 8-14 Day Outlook covers Thursday February 2 through Wednesday February 8 and is showing strong signals of temperatures generally above normal, and precipitation around normal. I don’t see any Big Storms for the Big Game week, but I do see more mundane precipitation. Three chances for snow or rain reign before the Big Game. A few snow showers are possible Sunday, rain showers are likely Tuesday, and rain or snow is possible next Friday.
INDY ALMANAC:
The average high temp today is 36, and the average low is 20. Records are 67 and -12. Sunrise time is 7:58 and it sets at 5:57. More rain in the bucket at Indianapolis yesterday, with .23″ of an inch, bringing the monthly total to 2.73″. That’s about half an inch above average, even as our snow total is running one-half a typical total.
