UPDATED: The Tuesday Indy high of 96 (!) is a new record. Previously it was 93 back in 1955. It was also the highest reading so late in the year in 57 years, fwiw.
A cold front makes a move on the state late Tuesday and Wednesday, bringing rain chances and “cooler” temperatures for a day. Fall arrives Wednesday night at 11:09 pm.
The front gets pushed north again Thursday as the ridge of high pressure redevelops and very warm air from the southwest is once again pushed across central Indiana. High temperatures on Thursday will reach the lower 90s. The record high temperature for Indianapolis on September 23rd is 90. It was set back in 2007…1961…1941 and 1891. Looks beatable.
