Overnight showers and storms soaked parts of central Indiana with just under 2 inches of rain. The biggest totals came from just north and east of Indianapolis. Storms early this morning sparked a house fire in Carmel near 146th and Hazel Dell Road. The house was crowded with 14 people who had been celebrating a family reunion.Someone noticed flames coming from an A/C vent and used a fire extinguisher to put it out, while another person called 911. Damage is minimal, and everyone got out safely.
Not everyone saw showers. Hardly anything fell south of I-70. There’s a chance of showers and storms today and again late tonight into Tuesday morn.
