So far, so good on next weekend’s forecast for the Indianapolis Marathon. If you haven’t registered yet, there may still be room. They are still taking online entries, so check the website to see if the race fills up. I’m doing the half, and mayyyyybe I’ll do it in around 2 hours.
Meanwhile: A runner from Kenya set a new U.S. marathon record Sunday at the Chicago Marathon. Sammy Wanjiru finished the 26.2 mile route in two hours, five minutes, 41 seconds. That’s a mile every four minutes, 47 seconds…for 26 miles. I could drink Quad Venti Cappuccinos for an hour and still not get close to that. But I’m running against ME, not Sammy. Hope to see you in Lawrence Saturday!
