Larry Lujack was huge in Chicago Top 40 radio when I was a kid. He was one of the first jocks to work from a position of sarcasm. If you grew up in north or central Indiana in the 70’s or early 80’s, you might remember him on WLS, playing the hits, sounding grumpy, and doing “Animal Stories.” One of his other routines was the “Klunk Letter Of The Day,” a simple bit where he read mail on the air, usually to make fun of the sender. He got a lot of cash for those klunkers, (sorry) so maybe it’ll work for me. Here are two recent emails.
MESSAGE:
i am disappointed that you chose to start this goofie weather map system. it only looks good and works well for those that are paying extra for 10x t1. i have 3x and it looks and performs like krapolla. i find much more enjoyment listen to, and looking at chuckles loften than this new and better junk. just use what works (signed) NO zoMbIes
I have no idea of what “NO zoMbIes” is talking about. I think all our map systems at work are pretty cool. And Chuck’s name is spelled “Lofton.”

I think I can only do a grand to start with, but it’s better than nothing. Thanks for your letter, Julie, now on with the count down. This is where the part where Larry would play a jingle and segue into an Elton John record.
