Indiana’s Weather For Tuesday

May 9, 2017

Click here for the Tuesday morning flooding update.

Showers and storms will be on more a scattered basis by in the afternoon and evening, so there will be some breaks today. This computer modeling via WeatherBELL runs from 6am through 11pm.

The reason? Upper air energy interacts with a nearby stationary front today to bring rain and some embedded thunderstorms to mainly the northeast half of central Indiana.

Because of the front hanging out in Indiana there will be a wide spread in today’s temperatures.

Yesterday’s high was 65 in Indy. My forecast was 66.

The average high today is 71 and the average low is 50. Records are 93 (1895) and 29 (1947). The sun rises at 6:36am and sets at 8:47pm.

Today: Showers and some storms likely in the morning. A chance in the afternoon. East wind 5-10 mph. High 66.

Tonight: Mostly cloudy, with a stray shower or storm possible. Low 53.

Wednesday: Mainly afternoon showers and storms. High 74.
