More than three-quarters of an inch fell in Indianapolis Thursday evening. Storms brought wind gusts of 51mph in Terre Haute and 53 mph in Bloomington. Trees weredowned in Knox, Greene, Monroe, Jackson, and Tippecanoe counties.

Heavy rain soaked Spencer in Owen county, where 3.30 inches was reported. Golf ball size hail (1.75″ diameter) fell in Vigo county. As the attached map shows, (click here for full size) the biggest rain fell to the west and to the southwest of Indianapolis, where it is still needed the most.

This brings the monthly Indianapolis total to 4.98 inches. Only two months in the last year have featured more precip, and we are within striking distance of both.
