After I went 100% freelance in the Fall of 2009 I experimented with a LOT of projects. (Does that sound like I’m running for office?) Some things worked better than others. When Patty Spitler asked me to co-host a show about pets I didn’t really know what to expect, but I figured at least I would have some laughs working with her.
Thanks to Patty’s constant (dogged?) work the show has been steadily expanding with respect to advertisers and distributors. A couple of weeks ago Pet Pals began appearing on Comcast Xfiniti in more than a million households across five states. Beginning July 1st we are also adding NBC affiliate WDTN-TV in Dayton, Ohio to the list. Viewers in the Miami Valley will see us on Sunday mornings. Bonus Fun Fact: Dayton is “The Spitler’s” hometown!
We expect more announcements shortly, but you didn’t hear it from me.
PPTV also airs in Indianapolis Saturday mornings on WNDY-TV and several times weekly on WIWU-TV in Marion, Indiana. Episodes are available online 24/7 at PetPalsTV.com. Patty also appears twice weekly on WISH-TV with unique Pet Pals TV segments.
We’ve recently added nationally-known veterinarian Dr. Cathy Alinovi. She answers questions from pet parents each week. “Dr. Cathy” touches on topics from heartworm treatment, to allergies to good nutrition. Attorney Gary Miller offers advice on responsible pet ownership and answers questions from viewers.
Sponsors such as Harrison College, Milano Inn, Subaru, Relay Indiana, Holistic Select pet food and Invisible Fence make the show possible. Pet Pals TV donates thousands of dollars in production services each week to promote non-profit animal rescue groups.
The Humane Society of Hamilton County in Noblesville, Indiana is one of dozens of shelters partnering with Pet Pals TV. In fact, Patty & I are hosting “Stand Up For Strays” next week at Crackers Comedy Club in B Rip to benefit the Shelter. Get tickets now! Thanks for watching!
