EASTERN PARKE…SOUTHWESTERN MONTGOMERY AND WESTERN PUTNAM
COUNTIES…
At 709 PM EDT, severe thunderstorms were located along a line
extending from 10 miles southwest of Crawfordsville to 6 miles east
of Terre Haute, moving northeast at 55 mph.
HAZARD…70 mph wind gusts and quarter size hail.
SOURCE…Radar indicated.
IMPACT…Hail damage to vehicles is expected. Expect considerable
tree damage. Wind damage is also likely to mobile homes,
roofs, and outbuildings.
Locations impacted include…
Fontanet, Seelyville, Waveland, Staunton, Harmony, Lena, Cecil Harden
Lake, Marshall, Russellville, Carbon, Bridgeton, Reelsville, Brazil,
New Market, Shades State Park, Knightsville, Alamo, Judson,
Rockville, and Crawfordsville.
This includes the following highways…
Interstate 70 between mile markers 16 and 38.
Interstate 74 between mile markers 32 and 33.
PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS…
A Tornado Watch remains in effect until 1000 PM EDT for west central
Indiana.
Remain alert for a possible tornado! Tornadoes can develop quickly
from severe thunderstorms. If you spot a tornado go at once into the
basement or small central room in a sturdy structure.
For your protection move to an interior room on the lowest floor of a
building.
