A developing upper-level low over California will slowly move to
Southeastern California by Monday evening. The system will produce rain
and higher-elevation snow over parts of Central/Southern California
through Monday. Moderate snow will develop over parts of the Sierra Nevada
Mountains, and heavy snow will fall over the San Gabriel and San
Bernardino Mountains.
Moreover, the SPC has issued a Critical Risk of fire weather over parts of
Arizona on Saturday and an Elevated Risk of fire weather on Sunday.
Meanwhile, a front extending from the Great Lakes to the Southern High
Plains will move eastward to off the Northeast/Mid-Atlantic by Sunday
evening. The storm will produce light snow over the Great Lakes into the
higher elevations of Northern New England through Sunday evening. Moderate
to heavy lake-enhanced snow will also downwind from Lake Ontario.
On Monday, another front moves southward out of Central Canada into the
Upper Great Lakes. From Monday afternoon into evening, the system will
develop light snow over the Great Lakes.
Furthermore, a wave of low pressure over the Southern Plains will move
northeastward to the Carolinas by Monday. The boundary will trigger
showers and thunderstorms over parts of the Southern Plains, moving into
the Lower Mississippi Valley by Sunday morning. Overnight Sunday, the
showers and thunderstorms will expand eastward into the Southeast and by
Monday evening, the showers and thunderstorms will begin to taper off
along the front.
