night into Tuesday…

Appalachians on Monday evening into Tuesday…
…Moderate to heavy rain over parts of Northern California…
A wave of low pressure over the Great Lakes on Monday will move
northeastward off the Northeast Coast by Tuesday evening. The system will
produce light snow over parts of Michigan on Monday evening, ending by
Tuesday morning. Overnight Monday into Tuesday, light to moderate snow
will develop over parts of the Northeast/northern Mid-Atlantic. Along the
rain/snow line, light rain/freezing rain areas will develop over parts of
the Mid-Atlantic/Central Appalachians through early Tuesday morning into
Tuesday evening.
Moreover, light rain will develop from the Southern Plains to the Ohio
Valley on Monday. The rain will continue over parts of the Middle
Mississippi and Ohio Valleys through Wednesday. In addition, return flow
off the Gulf of Mexico will stream moisture over the Southern Plains,
producing showers and thunderstorms overnight Monday through Tuesday.
Overnight Tuesday, the showers and thunderstorms will move into parts of
the Lower Mississippi Valley and continue through Wednesday evening.
Furthermore, low pressure will develop along the Southeast Coast and
slowly move northeastward out over the Western Atlantic. The low will pull
moisture off the Atlantic and stream the moisture northward over the
southern Mid-Atlantic, producing light rain over the area through Tuesday
night.
Meanwhile, on Monday into Tuesday, a front over the Eastern Pacific will
move onshore over the West Coast and continue to move into the Great
Basin/Southern California by Tuesday and into the Southern High Plains by
Wednesday afternoon. The system will bring moisture onshore, producing
light rain over the Pacific Northwest and moderate to heavy rain over
Northern California. As the front passes, rain will turn over to snow over
parts of the higher elevations of the Northwest and Northern/Central
California and light to moderate snow over the Sierra Nevada Mountains
Monday night into Tuesday. The system will create lower-elevation rain and
higher-elevation snow over parts of the Northern Intermountain Region and
the Great Basin Tuesday evening into Wednesday. Light snow will move into
parts of the Central/Southern Rockies by Wednesday afternoon.
Moreover, another boundary over the Eastern Pacific will approach the
Northwest Coast on Wednesday. Moisture associated with the storm will
produce light rain and higher-elevation snow over parts of the Pacific
Northwest.
