High pressure helps keep us dry until tomorrow evening. It will be around ten degrees cooler today versus yesterday.
An upper trough will approach the Mississippi River by Wednesday evening. In advance of the trough, upper air winds will transport moisture north from the Gulf of Mexico into the area, including from the remnants of Rafael. We will likely get more than a half-inch of rainfall.
Rain will diminish from west to east Thursday afternoon. Dry weather should return for Friday and then continue into Saturday. The next system looks to arrive around Sunday night, with yet another one moving in around Tuesday. Dent that drought!
