A few subtle changes in the atmosphere, as low pressure chugs northward through the Carolinas, fighting with that persistent area of low pressure in New England.
That low will throw some mid and high-level clouds into skies in the eastern third of the state later this afternoon. Highs will also be a few degrees lower today, which should break the 3-day 90+ streak in Indy, Lafayette and Muncie. We will be back up around 90 by Friday and Saturday.
Very dry air remain, with relative humidity levels falling to around 20-30% this afternoon However, winds are only expected to
peak around 7-12 mph. So while there is a concern for fires to pop up given the dry conditions, wildfire spread is not a huge
concern due to light winds. Some municipalities in central Indiana have activated a burn ban.
