False Fall rolls on for one more day. The low was again 47 in Anderson. It was 47 also in Muncie, Kokomo, Bloomington, and Lafayette. All the way down to 46 in Columbus this morning. It only to 54 in Indy.
The weekend will feature a big warmup as surface high pressure moves off to the east coast allowing a southerly inflow of warmer and secondarily more humid air and an upper ridge amplifies as it moves the western Great Lakes and Missouri Valley late Sunday. This along with a strong cap and limited instability will provide predominantly dry weather.
The upper ridge is set to remain amplified from Hudson Bay to the southern Plains next week as it progresses eastward. This will deflect a western short wave well north of the area into northern Ontario and later on Quebec. At same time the ridge will become shunted to the Tennessee and Ohio Valleys. Expect even warmer temperatures with afternoon highs mostly in the 90s. The heat index could creep close to triple digits.
