Expect two rounds of showers and storms Thursday afternoon. The first will be pulling into the Lafayette area around Noon, and then hitting the heart of central Indiana around 1 or 2pm. The first burst will last an hour or two. This is computer modeling depicting 2pm today.
The first line is associated with an area of low pressure out ahead of the actual cold front. Storms along the actual front will provide round two today. They won’t be as widespread, but have a small chance of producing wind gusts that could rise to severe levels. Here is the modeling for 6pm. They should arrive in the Indy metro around 7 or 8pm.
By tomorrow the front is east of us, and high pressure spreads out and takes over through the weekend, with Fair weather holding.
