Going out of business sale! The last day of surface high pressure and lots of sunshine for central Indiana.
The approaching cold front from the west will tighten the surface pressure gradient (difference between approaching low pressure and that departing high) allowing for increasing wind speeds compared to yesterday.
Elevated fire weather conditions are possible today, as warm air combines with very dry fuel conditions and gusty winds.
The tropical remnants steal some of the approaching front’s moisture, so rain chances will be limited to the southeastern half of Indiana, closer to the leftover circulation of Nicole.
