The best timing for enjoying today’s 70s is the afternoon, after a few scattered showers/storms in the morning and before a line of showers/storms tonight.
Warm winds blow into the state today, ahead of a powerful storm system that will bring an outbreak of severe weather in the Deep South, and a smaller risk up into parts of the Midwest and Ohio River valley.
That threat arrives after 6pm tonight. Outside of any severe thunderstorms there will be wind gusts up to 50 mph, and so there’s a Wind Advisory from 10am to 10pm. Scattered showers and storms are possible in the morning. The afternoon should be quiet.
