Final stats are in on May in Indy. Not from the Indy 500—you need Donald Davidson for that. As far as rain: IND picked up 3.57 inches, compared to an average of 4.75 inches. We are pretty close when you consider “meteorological spring,” which runs March/April/May. The total there is 11.24 inches, and the average is 12.78 inches.
Despite a sizzling streak for a week starting May 20th…the month averaged out 2.7 degrees below normal. Those last four days of the month sure didn’t help, although it’s hard to complain about the beautiful Indy 500 Race Day Weather: a blue sky and a high of 71.
