Showers and some thunder again in central Indiana today. We were spared the worst of severe weather Monday, which pounded Illinois.
Two things are going on today. One is a mid-level atmospheric disturbance moving through. There is also a surface cold front passing through. It won’t be as warm as yesterday. Highs hit the low 70s in Muncie and Lafayette, and 69 in Indianapolis. Monday rain amounts ranged from around a quarter-inch to one-third of an inch of rainfall. We are still running behind on rain. The year-to-date deficit is about a third of an inch in Lafayette, over an inch in Indianapolis, and three and a half inches in Muncie.
There is a level one (out of five) risk of severe weather east and southeast of Indianapolis. The severe risk, radar, and warnings are always updated on My Huge Radar page.
