Wind gusts late Thursday night and early Friday morning could reach 60 mph over the Indy metro area, and into north central and east central Indiana. A High Wind Warning starts at 11pm and goes until 9am Friday. Gusts could reach 50 mph in the Advisory area.
Blame upper air energy for that. At the surface, low pressure zooms northeastward this evening. Along and ahead of the trailing a cold front: a risk of thunderstorms with damaging wind and even a few tornadoes. The risk is highest south and southeast of Indianapolis.
