Happy National Radio Day. I heard about it on the radio, so it must be true. Let me play an oldie for you. It’s #TBT from WMEE in Fort Wayne. I was in all the papers! OK, I was in my high school yearbook. What a job. It was 1979, so you could play “Rock With You” by MJ every three hours. Or “Don’t Do Me Like That” by some guy named Tom Petty. Or Cliff Richard’s “We Don’t Talk Anymore.” Speaking of talk, you could talk to girls on the request lines (447-8633 or toll-free 1-800-552-0770). Not that there’s anything wrong with that. I was lucky enough to hang around and meet a girl in that studio too. Some DJ chick with the radio name “Jennifer Carr.” These days I call her “Mrs P.” Why wouldn’t I love radio?
