Yeah he was a good guy I’ll never forget when we were tracking all those tornadoes that hit Sycamore Park over there by Kenwood I’ll never forget that day I think it was 1999 somewhere right now the area oh my gosh I get up at 4:30 in the morning and I looked out and you talk about electric light show I knew something was coming out us so of course I picked up the phone and he was there in the studio and he said oh Cindy is is this is gonna be really bad and I said I know I can see out the window how horrible the electricity is in the sky lotta turbulence and Sure enough. My friends called and said the sirens were going off in Saint Bernard and I called my friend at Cherry Hill and he said he could see up on the hill in the back of his house he could see all the stuff coming I thought holy smokes that day I’ll never forget and the devastation it did I knew people that it threw them out of the house and destroyed their house and their son had to be operated on because he couldn’t walk that and thank God they got him pretty well straightened up. That one was a horrendous storm and tornado that day it was probably as bad as the one that came across and hit Moscow the multiple tornadoes Piner does too I remember quite well. One of the other meteorologist this was before you came again I talk to him 1230 the night before and he said to me oh Cindy he says there’s gonna be multiple tornadoes he says this is a horrible system he says I am very concerned about the devastation this can cause a boy a day it sure was you talk about doing some truck and holy smokes it kept me busy all day and it was scary I mean we’ve it to my mom and dad to the basement because we were afraid it was going to come up through Batavia at the time.
I have to commend NOAA weather in Wilmington for all the times they have add to the meetings and taught me what I do know and you guys for teaching me as meteorologist also things and their meteorologists been a big blessing. I guess I’ve been doing this for almost 25 years now long time.I take that back I think I was foggy clear before hurricane Andrew that was in 1992? So it had to be about 28 years! Wow. I enjoyed looking at the graphics and watching hurricanes do I track those in a pretty much on par with them. I guess I should’ve been a meteorologist but it’s too late now but I can be a storm spotter which helps people keep people safe! And Paul… Thank you so much for all your help and also for helping give me with more knowledge of the weather.
I’ll never forget the time when I called Tim and we were talking about Hurricane Katrina! Tim and I made a bet on where Katrina was going and what she was doing I’ll never forget that and which cost of the tip of Florida and she stalled and started getting all the moisture in that and I kept telling him I said he’s gonna go to New Orleans and he says no no it’s going to go to Galveston is going to Texas and I said OK bet me and so guess who won that bet? We just laughed about it! My gut feelings never lie!
I know I was so concerned because I’ve been to New Orleans many times and I do how it was down there and I was so scared they were going to get slammed and be so much devastation well it was beyond my dreams even end it was very sad to see it happen. Our friends lost everything down there and had to move out of state and moved to Houston Texas. So many people suffered because of that hurricane. Just like hurricane Andrew. But now we’ve had Maria and Dorian too bad ones really bad!
