Condolences to Hal Fryar’s family. Hal died at the age of 90 over the weekend in Florida, where he’d lived for some time. If you grew up in Indy you’d be more likely to know him as “Harlow Hickenlooper,” a Channel 6 kids host (yep that used to be a thing, for the benefit of my younger followers) in the 60s and 70s and on WFYI 20 as “Grandpa Harlow” many years later. He came back to 6 about ten years ago and was still a pro, and still had his shaving cream-pie fastball. I was able to chat with him a few times after that, sans cream. Sharp guy.
