There were no 90 degree days in Indy last August. If we hit 90 today it will be the third time this month. It would also be the 18th time this season. The average is 15. There were 13 days last year, with more than half occurring in September. The record is 58 days from the Summer of 1983. There were also 50+ days in the more recent Summer of 2012. The 90 degree mark will be common in the Midwest today. (Via WeatherBell.) Keep your eye on the cold front to our west, which will move through the state tomorrow. The precipitation potential for most of the state is less than a third of an inch tomorrow… …but the real story will be the dew point drop Saturday. Drier air will begin moving into the state, making it much more comfortable for outdoor stuff like the State Fair Saturday and Sunday. The dew points should be into the crisp 50s by Sunday morning! Spoiler alert: it will get muggier again during the course of the day Monday. PAUL’S PREVIOUS PREDICTION Yesterday’s high was 90 in Indy. My forecast was 91.
