Stubborn clouds and fog, but at least the rain is finished. For a day. It should be noted that what is on tap Wednesday through Friday will be unlike the steady, drizzly-type rain from the Holiday weekend. Scattered showers and storms will be possible Wednesday through Friday. A series of thunderstorm clusters are expected to “ride” the upper level heat ridge from the northern Plains into our area. The first batch may develop over the Dakotas and Minnesota later today. That may get here overnight tonight, and then put down some boundaries for storms to fire later. Instability increases Wednesday evening, with additional upper level support present as well, and the SPC has us in a marginal risk for severe weather tomorrow. Heavy rain is a possible threat. Hopefully it stays NORTH of I-70. As you see in this chart showing precip totals from the last seven days: the south was soaked the most over the holiday, as expected. Rain amounts north of Indy stayed under an inch. INDY SEVEN DAY FORECAST Today: Morning clouds and fog give way to a partly sunny, humid day. High 85. Tonight: Partly sunny. Low 70.
