IT’S JUNE. And it’s the ninth consecutive above-average day in Indy. The last third of May was the reverse of the first two-thirds, which were cooler than normal. There was measurable precipitation at the Airport 13 of the first 14 days.
And we’ll measure some today in the afternoon and evening. There is a marginal risk that storms could produce damaging wind gusts.
We’re not expecting a boatload (as it were) of rain today, as shown in this chart via Weatherbell. It also reflects the scattered nature of the showers and storms.
Today’s rain will be focused ahead of a cold front. Behind it, tomorrow? Still above average, but not as hot. And the humidity will drop again.
Temps will also dip this weekend, and highs will be in the 70s for awhile. Looks like that the slightly-cooler-than-average trend could hang through the first half of June.
