Showers could move into the Lafayette to South Bend corridor in the late morning, and will spread into the rest of central Indiana Monday afternoon. There won’t be much – probably only a tenth of an inch or less of moisture. Even less will fall to the south of Indy.
Here are some radar simulations of the timing today, via weatherbell.com.
Today’s rain is brought to you by a low pressure system well to the north of our area that will drag through a warm front in the afternoon…
…And a cold front late this evening. Today’s the last of the 40-degree days until Friday.
The focus Tuesday and Wednesday will be on another big storm in the Northeast, producing rain and snow inland. A High Wind Watch is in place for locations including NYC. Here’s a look at Tuesday.
Look closely at Indiana and you’ll see a typical “snow off the Lake” pattern in place for Tuesday. We should inherit some of those snow showers in central Indiana. Temps should prevent any accumulation, but northwest winds gusting to 20 mph will keep the flakes flying tomorrow.
The big snow this week will be in parts of New York and New England, where snow amounts could reach 8 inches by Wednesday.
The appropriate weather alarms have sounded.
