Remember when it was more Thanksgiving and less Black-Friday-Eve? Good times, amiright?
I hope you stuff some of that shopping hype and carve out some special time with your family.
No huge travel trouble today, although if you go over the Wabash River and through the north woods to South Bend an inch or two of snow is possible. As is often the case, some of that could slip into central Indiana as flurries. (The stuff you see to the southwest on this chart reflects snow from last night and early overnight.)
For Drumstick Dash-ers in Broad Ripple: Temps around 26, and northwest winds from 10-15 mph yielding a wind chill in the upper teens. A *little* better than last year.
Thanksgiving stats? But of course. The National Weather Service crunched the numbers (ever notice how little of what you’ll eat today is crunchy?) and discovered the following for Indianapolis on the various Thanksgiving days since 1871:
45 AVG HIGH 30 AVG LOW 69 WARMEST (1973) +1 COLDEST (1930) 2.4" MOST SNOW (1902) 1.45" MOST RAIN (2010)

WEEKEND:
A push of warmer air will means clouds and maybe a few light showers or sprinkles Saturday afternoon and evening. The approach of a cold front should focus higher rain chances here Sunday.
That front passes early Monday morning, ending the rain and the mild temperatures.
We’re only expecting three-quarters of an inch or less of precipitation through Monday morning. I hope your gravy is more moist than THAT.
