What if I told you the weekend weather maker would leave your daytime plans untouched? That appears to be the story on the cold front arriving late Saturday evening into Indiana.
Certainly no problem getting out today. Wall to wall sunshine is expected, after another brisk beginning. High pressure has moved farther to the east, and the wind will turn more southeasterly, helping has get close to normal for the high temp.
Those highs will go above average tomorrow, with clouds increasing gradually during the afternoon. The front is through a little earlier than previously advertised, so rain chances are in place for the evening and overnight. The showers and storms could start in the late afternoon from South Bend down to Lafayette. Precipitation amounts with the system are expected to range from around a quarter of an inch around central Indiana to half an inch in northern Indiana.
Not that we need it. Indy has gotten 2.47 inches of rain this month. The average is 1.84. For the year: 32.99, versus an average of 31.17 inches.
What’s the deal with Odile? The remnant center of the once-hurricane will continue moving eastward into New Mexico and then western Texas through the early weekend. Moderate rainfall with pockets of heavier rainfall will continue to increase the flash flood threat for a large portion of New Mexico and West Texas. Expect the rainfall to begin tapering off from west to east across New Mexico Friday night and West Texas into Saturday.
