Fog is a Sunday morning factor in the northern quarter of the state. Your reward in South Bend and Fort Wayne and Marion is no rain for the second half of the weekend. The best chances for Sunday showers will come in the morning, although a thunder threat will remain through the afternoon and evening. Get used to it. There is at least a slight chance of showers and storms every single day of the 7 Day Forecast. That hasn’t happened in awhile.
The heaviest rain Sunday morning will fall in the southern half of the state. It’s not going to rain the entire work week, but it is going to be muggy all week. The storm chance is a little higher Tuesday than it is Monday. The best chance of organized precipitation is Wednesday Night into Thursday morning.
At the halfway point of August most of the major reporting stations are below the monthly average. Lafayette has not stayed thirsty, my friend:
CITY RAIN SATURDAY RAIN MONTH TO DATE VS NORMAL South Bend 0.00 0.87 -1.12 Lafayette 0.58 1.81 +0.08 Muncie 0.12 0.72 -0.96 Indianapolis 0.09 0.36 -1.24 Terre Haute 0.12 1.00 -0.60 Bloomington 0.02 0.58 -1.08
As much as two inches could fall in the next seven days over much of the state, with even more of that in southern Indiana.
INDY ALMANAC:
The average high today is 84 and the average low is 65. Records are 99 and 52. The sun rises at 6:59 and sets at 8:39.
PAUL’S PREVIOUS PREDICTION:
