It’s not going to rain all day today, but the chance for scattered stuff will be around all day. Some thunder is also possible. Low pressure and an attached front will get out of town by sunset tonight. There is a chance of locally heavy downpours.
It poured overnight in Bloomington, where almost an inch and a half of rain fell between midnight and 1am. Here are the rain totals from yesterday through 7am this morning:
2.04″ Bloomington
.82″ Muncie
.76″ Terre Haute
.74″ Lafayette
.18″ Muncie
Better weather arrives tomorrow. Humidity will be a notch lower. A cold front approaches Thursday evening, with a slight shower chance in central Indiana. That front will be to the east of us by Friday, and the weather looks really nice Friday and Saturday, with low humidity and plenty of sun.
Humidity will increase during the day Sunday, with sticky and stormy days ahead next week. Speaking of storms, a law enforcement officer reported a confirmed tornado touchdown near Baseline Road in Bloomfield Indiana Tuesday evening at 7:23. There were other reports of wall clouds, and doppler radar indicated the storms were rotating. It appears to have been a limited to Greene County.
Meteorologists will also double check damage to homes and trees in Fishers, to confirm it was from straight line winds.
