The day begins and ends with rain. There might be a precipitation pause around lunch until the start of afternoon drive time. Rain totals from today and tomorrow should end up between one inch and 1.5 inches. Totals will be lowest toward Lafayette and Terre Haute and highest around Muncie and Richmond. About an inch and a quarter of rain is likely around Indianapolis.
The rain is the biggest threat. Severe weather will stay south of Indiana today, but there could be some thunder along with the rain. Showers and storms will be more scattered tomorrow, but there are still good chances.
Low pressure in southern Missouri Tuesday morning will be just north of Indianapolis by Wednesday morning, and the trailing front will move through central Indiana around sunset Wednesday evening, shutting down the showers.
The forecast is looking pretty good Thursday through Sunday. Humidity will increase Sunday, and the next work week looks hot and humid. We could get close to 90 degrees. The biggest number the Indy Airport’s popped so far this year is 87. It’s been exactly a week since the official high was 80 or higher.
