The new normal is…normal. The average high over the next week is about 80. We will be near, or just below average. The sky will be mostly sunny today, after some localized morning fog. Fair weather clouds will puff up a little in the afternoon. Northeast winds will pull in air that is less humid than yesterday.
A weak wave to the south tonight means we could go partly cloudy overnight into Friday morning, but it should be sunny again Friday afternoon.
Yesterday brought almost three inches of rain to Terre Haute, almost an inch and a half to Indianapolis, and just under an inch to South Bend. About three-quarters of an inch fell in Lafayette. A little more than that fell in Muncie, and a little less in Richmond. Most of that came in the morning and midday. A tornado watch was issued for southern Indiana later in the day, but no severe weather was ever reported.
JUNE PRECIPITATION SO FAR
4.34″ Terre Haute
2.46″ Indianapolis
2.13″ Muncie
1.08″ Lafayette
0.70″ Bloomington
So, the new normal is also a green lawn for you. You can tend to all your outdoor projects from now through Saturday. Our next weather maker still looks to start bringing back the shower and storm chances later Saturday night into Sunday. Not as much rain is expected for this event.
