Welcome to June. For meteorologists, it’s the “official” start of Summer (as well as the hurricane season.) It’s felt like summer around here recently. This is the 7th consecutive day of highs in the 80s.
There are changes coming. Humidity and clouds will increase this afternoon and a comfortable and sunny start. Scattered storms should start popping this afternoon. That should happen after 4pm around Lafayette and Terre Haute, after about 5 from Kokomo down to Indy, and after 6 from Muncie down to Richmond.
The chance continues tonight. Another round of storms is likely Monday, mainly in the afternoon and evening. Most of that should be gone by Tuesday morning drive time, and you can exhale for a day.
Storms Wednesday have the risk of becoming severe, with a wave in the upper atmosphere arriving. Those storms could linger into part of Thursday morning, but most of Thursday should be quiet. One more storm chance Friday, and then an active week will conclude with yet another nice Saturday. Fasten your seat belts. It could be a bumpy month.
