It was a day dominated by Reay and rays, thanks to strong Speedway sunshine.
Race Day temperatures were as close to normal as they’ve been in at least 6 years. The official Indy high was 79. Humidity was comfortable, and a 5-10 mph breeze blew into turn 3.
Now: forget all that! You knew I couldn’t go the distance without waving the yellow flag, right?
Humidity will begin increasing Memorial Day, and we have storm chances back in the forecast through Thursday. That chance is just slight today, so go grilling, just be willing to double check the Doppler. Highs will be 84 in Indy and Richmond, 85 in Bloomington, and 86 in Muncie.
The upper air setup doesn’t favor severe weather over the next few days. We’ll just be bothered by the approach of a front Tuesday night and Wednesday that will stall until Friday. Up to an inch of rain could fall within that stretch.
Temps will back off a few degrees Friday into next weekend. Looks like we will be dry Saturday and there could be a rain chance by Sunday afternoon and evening.
