Somebody directly connected with the Indy “500” threw the book at Tom, and he loved it. He also loved Dave Furst’s special racing Pumas, at least until somebody famous peed on them.
Paul has also been watching the wheels, with two odd stories about motorcycle men.
Tom believes everything was gloomy in the 70s, and the subject brings out one of Paul’s favorite lines from a hit song. Paul also has appliances from the 70s, and they are finally failing. A visit to the scratch and dent store opens up a screwy (and caulky) Pandora’s box. Tom admires Paul’s thriftiness, but doubts his handiness.
